Gregory J. Michael

Gregory Michael, of Fairfield, CT, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Greg was born August 13, 1964 in Bridgeport, CT. At the age of four, Greg moved with his family to Fairfield and graduated from Andrew Warde High School in 1982.  Greg’s career in car sales and management spanned 40 years. His passion for cars, coupled with his outgoing personality, made him a natural born salesman. Greg’s innate ability to understand the art of the deal allowed him to match his customers with the right car almost seamlessly. Most recently Greg worked for BMW of Darien. This dealership was a true home for him, where he was surrounded by amazing colleagues and appreciated for his car expertise and way with people.

Another true asset was Greg’s ability as a handyman. He could be found tinkering on home projects; his proudest endeavor was rebuilding the pool house with his son during the 2020 pandemic. He also enjoyed watching his beloved Patriots, and delighted in a delicious home cooked meal. Greg was a salt-of-the-earth person possessing both “street smarts” and “people smarts.” He met people where they were, could make genuine connections, and was a loyal and beloved friend.

Greg’s greatest love was for his family.  Nothing brought him more joy than being with his devoted wife of 25 years, Wendi Hipkins Michael, and their three beloved children, Zachary, Ellie and Camryn. The perfect ending to a day was one in which his family was gathered around the dining room table, laughter filling the room, and delighting in the lives of his children!

Greg is the son of Eugene Michael of Bridgeport. He is predeceased by his mother, Mary Furtado Michael (2001). He is survived by his brother, David Michael and wife Hanh, and their daughters Andrea and Olivia of Fairfax, VA as well as his brother, Doug Michael and wife Kim, and their children Gabriel and Isabella of Bar Harbor, ME.

Calling hours will be Friday, February 10 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Spear- Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  Memorial service will be Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Road, Fairfield.
