Harry E. "Rusty" Spear, Jr.

Harry E Spear Jr. ”Rusty” age 67 of Shaftsbury, VT, former Foreman of Lakeview Cemetery passed away peacefully, with his wife Lisa by his side January 30th, 2024, at Albany Medical Center. Rusty was born in Bridgeport, CT on May 27th, 1956 to Harry Spear, Sr. and Lorraine Spear. He is survived by his children: Joseph A. Spear and granddaughter Mya Raine Spear Champagne, of Shelton, CT, Samantha D. Parizotta and husband Ivan of Austin, TX, Harry “Eddy” Spear III and wife Tia of Seymour CT, Corey J. Spear and his wife Elizabeth and grandson Reese J. Spear of Stratford, CT; his brother, William Spear, and sister, Dernise Spear of Stratford CT, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Rusty was as eccentric as he was entertaining. He loved to tell stories about what a good baseball player he was and anything else from his glory days or the present. If you did not cut him off, he would talk forever. He loved making a fool of himself for pure entertainment. Though he was filled with complicated emotions, he genuinely loved life and the unknown. His last words were his children's names. Guns, Bigfoot, and aliens were a part of his life and his dry comedic attitude towards it all drove us crazy.  From waking one night to a snake in our bed, to him yelling get to dry land as he is running on asphalt and receiving a neighbor's phone call because he was out in a snowstorm in only his shorts and work boots. Rusty was a funny guy, if he truly knew him, you know what I mean? One last thing, he made the best cup of coffee! He will truly be missed. We all love you Tiger! A funeral service celebrating Rusty’s life will be held Friday, February 16th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  Interment will be private.  Friends may call  Monday February 12, 2024 from 4-7 p.m.
