Helen R. Larkin

Helen R. Larkin, age 89 of Fairfield beloved wife of Robert Larkin, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015. Born in Bridgeport the daughter of the late Frank and Ina Norton, she had been a Fairfield resident for most of her life. Helen and Robert celebrated 70 years of marriage in November. She loved working around her house and in her garden and was an accomplished baker, but above all else, delighted in her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her loving husband she is survived by four beloved children, Dennis Larkin and his wife Marge, Eileen Fox and her husband James, Timothy Larkin and his wife Gloria and Robin Redford and her husband Aubrey; six grandchildren, Sean Larkin, Jeff Fox, Amy Fox, Daniel, Brigitte and Kate Larkin; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Mackenzie Fox; two sisters she considered as best friends, Nora Grillo and Claire Jelenik and her husband Al; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) Norton, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers Thomas and Kirk Norton. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield with the Rev. David Spollett officiating. Interment will be private in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
