Isabel B. Martin

Isabel B. Martin, age 90, of Fairfield, formerly of New Hyde Park, NY, beloved wife of the late Louis Martin, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, NY the daughter of the late Vahan and Florence Burgujian, she had been a Fairfield area resident for the last 23 years. Mrs. Martin received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Hunter College and was employed as a teacher prior to raising her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a member of the Connecticut Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Isabel was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who delighted in time spent with her family. Survivors include two beloved children, Larry L. Martin and his wife Jeanie of Needham, MA and Lydia M. Kalt and her husband Richard of Westport; four cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Trevor Martin and Chloe and Chelsea Kalt; a brother, Armen Burgujian and his wife Lola of New Jersey; a sister, Mary Ann Anooshian of New Hyde Park, NY and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension, 1460 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull, CT 06611.
