Issiah Matthew VanWagner was born June 26, 2005 in New London to Nicole VanWagner. He spent the first 5 years living with his grandparents Dale and Diana Nickel, with much love and support from his Dad, Jaime Romero. He spent a good time travelling, and enjoyed visiting Hooters, where a server fell in love with him and she vowed to marry him some day. His life was challenging, starting with kidney surgery on his first Birthday. Health issues followed him for the rest of his life, but he had a smile that would light up any room. When he was six he was blessed with a little brother Ayden, followed by Jordan and JJ. He enjoyed computer gaming, holidays with his family, going to the zoo, the Big E, and a couple of Celtic Thunder concerts, and he was going to see his first Jimmy Buffett concert. He was also working toward his GED. He may no longer be with us, but he won't be forgotten. He is survived by grandmother Cynthia Anderson, aunt Megan Anderson, uncle Kevin VanWagner, and many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Romero and Warner families. A service celebrating Issiah’s life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gathering Room of Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Tpke, Fairfield with the Rev. Gaylord Lemke officiating. Interment will be held privately at Mt. Grove Cemetery. For information or to offer an online condolence please visit www.SpearFuneralHome.com
