James H. Goldstein (Big Jim), age 70 of Milford, formerly of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Linda Goldstein, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. Born and raised in Yonkers, NY the son of the late Boris and Margaret Goldstein, he settled in Bridgeport in 1971. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked in various security positions prior to retiring as a police officer for the State of Connecticut. Jim was a member of Corinthian Lodge # 104, A.F. & A.M. and Pyramid Shrine where he was also a member of the Motor Patrol. He was a Gold Legacy Life member of V.F.W. Post 7788, the Association of Navy Veterans, Port 5 and the B.P.O.E. Elks #1589, Milford. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Survivors include his devoted son; James M. Goldstein and his wife Janine of Monroe, two cherished grandsons, Jonathan and Joseph Goldstein; a brother, Jack Goldstein of FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Marsh. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. V.F.W. Post 7788 will render honors at 5:30 PM and Corinthian Lodge # 104 will exemplify their ritual at 7:00 PM. Military honors will conclude the visitation.
