Janet S. Wolucki

Janet S. Wolucki, age 89, beloved wife of 50 years to Thomas J. Wolucki, of Southport, passed in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Born in 1931 to Theodore and Ethel Stabell, Janet grew up in Norwalk, attending Norwalk High School and later going to banking school at Brown University. In her youth, she and her family would often take the ferry to Sheffield Island for day trips on the beach. She began her career as a teller working for South Norwalk Savings Bank. Over the course of 40 years, she grew with the bank becoming Financial Secretary and Senior Vice President as it changed hands to Gateway Bank, then Fleet National Bank, and finally, Bank of America. Janet met her adoring husband, Thomas, in adolescence during World War II. The couple married in 1970 in St. Luke's Church in Westport. Janet spent much of her time with needle and thread in hand, either embroidering or sewing, and even making her own clothes. Friends and family are invited for a walk-through visitation on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 10:00am-11:00am at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
