Jean S. Takacs, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on May 16, 2022.  She was born on February 19, 1936 at Bridgeport Hospital.

She leaves a brother Donald Weaver of Eldorado Hills, CA and a sister Barbara Powers of Stockton Springs, ME. Jean also leaves three nieces Karen Powers of Benecia , CA, Melissa Thames of Eldorado Hills, CA, Lori of CA, two nephews Bruce Powers of Islamorada, FL and Craig Powers of Milton, MA, along with several grand nieces and nephews  and several great grand nieces and nephews . She will be missed.

Jean graduated from Bridgeport Hospital as a Registered Nurse, Gordon College, and the University of Bridgeport . She worked at Bridgeport Hospital, and was Registrar for Norwalk Community College and a travel Agent. She loved to travel, in fact she had taken a few of her nieces and nephews on those trips. Camping vacation were more fun as she kept the nieces and nephews and children entertained with fun activities.

“Aunt Jean was an adventurer in her younger years and instilled a love of travel and discovery of new places into me. She took me on my first airplane ride as a teenager; something at that time was relatively rare compared to these days.”  – Says Bruce  . . .

Friends and family are invited to attend a service celebrating Jean's life on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 12pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow the service at Mountain Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport.
