Jeane A. Nemergut

Jeane A. Nemergut, age 87 of Stratford, passed away peacefully Monday, November 13, 2017. Born in Stratford, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Creevy Nemergut, she had been a lifelong town resident. She was a graduate of Stratford High School and had worked for over 40 years for the United Illuminating Company. A devout Roman Catholic, she always looked forward to attending Mass at her parish, St. Mark in Stratford. She loved working in her beautiful gardens and spending time with her family. From an early age, Jeane learned the value of hard work which guided her throughout her life and could be seen in all she accomplished, be it her career, wonderful gardens and the many parties and family gatherings she hosted. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Church, Stratford. Interment will follow in Putney Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
