Joan Homa

Joan C. Homa, 85, of Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2024. Born in New York, NY May 12, 1939 to the late John and Elizabeth Hartley Conlin. 

Joan was welcomed into the heavenly arms of her loving husband Jim Homa, her sister Margaret, her parents John and Elizabeth Conlin and many family members and friends. 

A gifted interior designer, art aficionado and gardener. Joan was an avid history buff and served on the Fairfield Historical Society. Joan was a survivor of the Barnum and Bailey Circus fire in 1944. 

Her greatest joy was being around her family and friends. Joanie's sense of humor, stories and her infectious laugh would have everyone who was around her in stitches. 

She is the proud mother of: Elizabeth Sweeney Mingey, Shelton CT, Mathew Sweeney, Fairfield CT and Karen Sweeney Toms, Vero Beach, FL and their spouses Timothy Mingey, Jaeca Sweeney and Michael Toms. 

A grandmother to Kevin Allen, James Allen, Katie Allen, Sam Sweeney, Lucy Sweeney, Jake Sweeney, Jameson Sweeney, Cameron Toms and Rylee Toms, 3 great grandchildren Dev, River and Ava. 

She leaves behind her dear brother Chris Conlin as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends MaryEllen Reinhardt and Yolanta Szaewacki. 

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairfield Historical Society.
