Joan (Dale) Krasne Stark

STARK, Joan (Dale) Krasne, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 21,

2021, in Fairfield, Connecticut. She was 84. A native of New York City, Joan was the daughter

of the late Bernice (Fisch) Krasne of Philadelphia and Benjamin Krasne of New York City, the

younger sister of Sandra and the twin sister of Alice. Joan attended Tufts University before

graduating from Finch College, and over the years held a number of professional positions

including at Conde Nast Publications and Temple Israel of the City of New York. Joan loved to

swim, ice skate, explore her native Manhattan, and spend time with her family and friends, and

was a loving and devoted wife and mother. In 1958, she married Stephen Henry Stark, and

together they raised their family in Scarsdale, New York, and shared a beautiful 48-year

marriage until his passing in 2006. Joan is survived by their three children, Anthony (Debbie),

Sanford (Miriam), and Victoria, nine grandchildren, Gigi, Anthony, Alessandra, Angelica, Ella,

Stephen, Josephine, Ryan and Sarah, sisters Sandra and Alice (and husband Henry), and her

nieces and nephews. Joan will be deeply missed and forever remembered by everyone who

knew and loved her. In honor and memory of Joan, please consider a contribution to the charity
