Jo Ann Marie Carlson

Jo Ann Marie Carlson, age 75, lifelong resident of Fairfield, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. Born in Bridgeport, Jo Ann grew up in Fairfield, attending Roger Ludlowe High School. Jo Ann was a kind, happy, and loving woman; always making sure to make others smile. She was both a good listener and great at giving advice. She was very crafty and loved to create, which went hand-in-hand with her many hobbies. Jo Ann loved to play games of all kinds, whether it was going to the casino to play bingo or having friends and family over for a game night or to play cards. Truly, she just loved to spend time with the people she cared for, most especially her husband of nearly 58 years, Stu, whom she loved unconditionally. A true romantic at heart, Jo Ann was a lover of love. She loved to give love, and loved to receive love. She was truly a person anyone would aspire to be.

In addition to her devoted husband, Stuart G. Carlson, Jo Ann is survived by her siblings, Bob (Moe) Wicklund, Nancy Wicklund, Ardith (John) Skeens, Dorothy (Michael) Sciortino, and Arnold (Gudrun) Wicklund; as well as several nieces and nephews; and a very close friend, Bonnie Svrcek. Jo Ann is predeceased by her parents, Edith and Arnold Wicklund, Sr.; as well as two brothers, Raymond Wicklund, and Kenneth (Cheryl) Wicklund.

Family and friends are invited to greet the Carlson family on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 12pm-3pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A service will begin promptly at 3pm in the funeral home.
