John A. Gregory

John A. Gregory, age 67, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in Providence RI, and raised in Westport, the son of the late Allen and Lisa Gregory, he had been a Fairfield resident since 1976. He was a 1969 graduate of Staples High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. While in the military, John took HVAC classes at the New England Technical School. Following his service he began a long career in the HVAC-R profession. He founded and was currently the owner of Century Leasing in Norwalk. He was a member of the Port 5 Naval Veterans. John loved to travel, especially to the Florida Keys. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and old cars. Most recently he enjoyed accompanying his beloved companion Reva to numerous antique shows throughout the area. Survivors include two children, Todd W. Gregory and his wife Patricia of Fairfield and Sarah E. Gregory of Philadelphia, PA; three sisters, Diane Schneider and her husband Charles of Ogunquit, ME. Nancy Testa of Charlotte, NC and Jean Gregory of Westerly, RI; and his 25-year devoted soul mate, Reva Baker of Fairfield. He was predeceased by his sister, Katherine MacGregor. John was previously married to the late Glenna Hauser Gregory. Friends may greet the family Friday, March 9, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield.
