John Charles Shalvoy, Jr., 65, better known as Chip, died peacefully at his Fairfield home on February 25, 2022.
John was predeceased by his parents, John Charles Shalvoy, Sr., and Mary Lou Shalvoy. He is survived by his sister Robin Shalvoy, cousins Cary Rich Jewkes, Mary Lou Halloran, Joann Shannon Davey, and many more loving relatives. He was also survived by his soul mate and lifelong friend, Vernon Downes, his landscape business partner, Rolando Bermudez, cats Luka and Bear, and dog Jaxson.
John was raised in Fairfield, CT, and was an alumnus of Tufts University and Goddard College. John worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Motorola in the Integrated Solutions Division Premier MDC Law Enforcement Mobile Unit. He was able to pursue his other lifelong love of plants, shrubs, and trees with a second career as a professional landscaping and design genius, creating Paytonwood Garden Design, LLC., a small local business.
The family would like to express their appreciation to John's caregivers at The Carolton, neighbors, friends, Visiting Angels, and Connecticut Hospice.
