Jonathan M. Vida, age 38, of Boise, ID, formerly of Fairfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 9, 2020. Born in Bridgeport, Jonathan was the loving son of Anthony M. Vida, Sr. of Fairfield and Rose Zicca Vida of Boise, ID. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 2001 and worked in Landscaping, and most recently, as a plumber's apprentice. Jonathan was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. He loved animals and being outdoors. A gifted athlete, he enjoyed playing basketball and, in his younger days, Pop Warner football. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and large circle of friends. Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Anthony M. Vida, Jr. of Black Rock; a sister, Kaileigh K. Ravis of Bridgeport; a niece, Harlow L. Oppedisano; a very special cousin who was more like a brother, Bret Eby, II of Graham, WA; his paternal uncle, Mark R. Vida and paternal aunt, Karen A. Vida, both of Fairfield; maternal uncle, Peter Zicca of Ft. Myers, FL; two maternal aunts, Maryann Maytum of Seattle, WA and Paul Zicca Eby and her husband Bret of Graham, WA; and several cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Patricia A. Vida and Rudolph R. Vida; an uncle, Craig S. Vida; and maternal grandparents, Frank Zicca and Nancy Vinci Zicca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private. Due to current conditions and guidelines, friends attending the Mass must contact Holy Family Church at (203) 336-1835 to reserve a seat. Masks are required. Deadline for reservations is Friday, September 11th.
