Joseph Sirotnik, age 98, of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Helen Sirotnik, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 22, 2014 in his home. Born in Bridgeport the son of the late Joseph and Susan Sirotnik, he had been a Fairfield resident for over 60 years. Mr. Sirotnik was a retired baker for the Bamby Bakery Company in Bridgeport. He was a parishioner for many years of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Joe was a member of the Slovenian Catholic Sokols. He was an avid fisherman and loved fishing both salt and fresh water. He enjoyed working around his home and in his gardens. Joe and Helen enjoyed dancing together, particularly at the Ritz Ballroom. Mr. Sirotnik will be fondly remembered as a friendly and kind gentleman who always had a smile on his face. Survivors include his loving and devoted daughter, Joan Adams of Fairfield; three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John and a sister, Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Thomas Aquinas Church 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
