Josephine Pioli Cook passed away August 14th 2023 in the privacy of her Fairfield home. Born on November 23, 1927 to the late James and Carmella Pioli in the Riverside section of Greenwich, CT. She was a graduate of Greenwich High School class of 1946 and was employed by the former Yale and Towne Manufacturing Company in the order processing department for several years before moving to Fairfield and being a resident for over 60 years. Josephine enjoyed gardening, cooking holiday meals, watching the New York Yankees and Giants play. She also enjoyed joining her late husband to his Air Force reunions where they made many friends at the time. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She leaves behind her devoted son James K Cook of Fairfield to cherish her memory, Granddaughters Kelsey Cook of Danbury, Kim (Tim) Hickman of Lexington VA, Dr. Beth Schooley Turner (Jody) of Columbia VA, and Great Grand-daughters Abby and Olivia Hickman. Josephine was predeceased by her husband John W. Cook Jr., her daughter Pamela Schooley, and her grand-daughter Maghen Cook. Also predeceased are her siblings Virginia Zullo, Gloria Elhers, Marie Calabrese, and Floyd Pioli Sr. and niece Sharron Walley.
Friends and family are invited to attend a service on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 12pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Pius X Church Foundation, 834 Brookside Dr., Fairfield CT. 06824
