Kathryn Clarkson

Kathryn Clarkson (Hooper), 66, of Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully in her home Nov. 9, with her husband holding her hand and surrounded by those whom she loved.
Kathryn was born in Vermont and moved to NYC in 1972. She loved the City where she worked as a nanny, a shoe sales associate in the World Trade Center, a bartender in the Village and finally as a Media Director of an ad agency. It was in the City where she met Sandy and it was love at first sight for both. They moved to Fairfield to raise Caitlin, Brendan and Amanda. Kathryn loved being a mother and was a second mother to her children's friends and all the neighborhood kids. Throughout her life, she selflessly put her needs behind everyone else's. Even as her illness limited her mobility, she touched those with whom she came into contact. Over the last four years, she developed a special relationship with her granddaughter, Parker, and she took great joy in knowing her daughter Amanda is expecting a baby girl this Christmas.
Kathryn loved family time, craft projects, watching movies with family and friends, the holidays, giving gifts, fostering kittens, visiting family in Vermont, vacations in Cape Cod, trips to Watch Hill, Florida and Jamaica, and walking on the beach holding hands with her kids and Sandy.
Kathryn is survived by her husband Sandy, her children Caitlin Clarkson Pereira and Matthew Pereira, Brendan, and Amanda Lacasky and husband Dan, her granddaughter Parker, and her siblings Cheryl Hooper, Greg Hooper and wife Susan, Pat Lintereur and husband Jim, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She joins her loving parents, Guy and Betty. She will be missed greatly.
Visiting hours are at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield on Sat. November 17th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. with a memorial service on Sunday November 18th at 3:00 p.m. at First Church Congregational in Fairfield.
