Kevin Travers Flynn

Kevin Travers Flynn, age 28, of Fairfield, beloved son of Holly Iannarone Flynn and James M. Flynn, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in New Haven, Kevin had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. He was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School, and was a dedicated volunteer at the Fairfield Public Library, the Fairfield Senior Center and Cambridge Manor. He loved to watch movies and read, and was a fan of William Shakespeare. Kevin loved to travel with his family and particularly enjoyed visiting his sisters while they studied abroad in Ireland and Italy. Born with Autism, Kevin was an exceptional individual who handled the many challenges he faced with such a deep passion, and truly made the most out of his life. In addition to Autism he was afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis and worked very hard not to enable that disease to set him back from accomplishing his many goals. He was an inspiration to his family and friends and will be dearly missed. Survivors in addition to his parents include two sisters, Melissa E. Flynn of Dublin, Ireland and Molly A. Flynn of Florence, Italy; a brother, Thomas M. Flynn of Fairfield; a maternal grandmother, Eleanor Iannarone of Fairfield; a paternal grandfather, James T. Flynn of Hamden; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Agostino Iannarone and a paternal grandmother, Marylou Flynn. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Christ & Holy Trinity Cemetery, Westport. Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 pm in the funeral home. In honor of Kevin's casual style and his love of the color yellow, please feel free to dress casually and wear something yellow in his honor.
