Kevin G. Powers

Kevin Gerard Powers, aged 65, passed away on Thursday, September 26 2019. Born in New York, NY and raised in Inwood, the son of the late Bernard Powers (of County Cork Ireland) and Josephine Powers (of Roscommon Ireland).
A graduate of Power Memorial High School in Manhattan, and Plattsburgh State University for his undergraduate degree, Kevin retuned to New York City upon graduation, where he embarked upon his lifelong career in carpentry and construction. Kevin was a loyal and dedicated employee who cared very much about not only the integrity of his work, but also of his colleagues.
Kevin was proud of where he came from and was devoted to his family and friends. He never said no to helping a friend with a job or a project and took great joy in helping others.
Kevin loved his family, he is survived by his children Marjorie Flynn (aged 36), and Matthew Powers (aged 34) and his grandchildren Jack and Clare Flynn (aged 6 and 3). Also, his brothers Robert Powers and Bernie Powers (wife Paula) and his many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved sister, Mary Haggan (County Donegal Ireland).
Visitation will be held at Spear Funeral Home in Fairfield CT on September 30 2019 at 11:30 am. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following at 12:30 pm that day, and all are welcome to join in celebration of Kevin's life at the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield CT at 1:30pm.
