Lawrence (Larry) G. Dunn, age 62, of Fairfield, beloved husband of 30 years to Arlene Dunn, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Sunday, April 16, 2023 following a lengthy illness. Born in Yonkers, NY, the son of the late Edward and Alice Dunn, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Fordham University. Larry worked in banking and finance in New York City, and then joined the Yonkers Fire Department retiring as Assistant Chief. Larry was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Pius X Council 16347 and was a parishioner for many years of St. Thomas Aquinas Church where he served as an usher. He was a talented builder and enjoyed working on projects around his home. Larry was an avid runner and enjoyed spending vacations with his family at Monterey Beach, New Jersey. He was a devoted and loving dad to his three cherished daughters and was an active participant in all their activities. He coached their sports teams and would never miss a game or event. In addition to his loving and devoted wife, Arlene, Larry will be sadly missed by three beloved daughters, Samantha Rose Dunn, Nicole Marie Dunn and Melissa Ann Dunn all of Fairfield; a beloved brother, Deputy Fire Chief (Fairfield), Kyran Dunn and his wife Patricia of Yonkers, NY; two loving sisters, Catherine Dunn-Brosnan and her husband Edmond of Elmsford, NY and Eileen Dunn McNelis and her husband Charles of Potomac, MD; and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Sunday, April 23rd from 2-6 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 24th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
