Laura Lee Guilmette

Laura Lee Guilmette, age 52 of Bridgeport, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 in her home. Born in Norwalk, the daughter of the late John and Joan Alcure, she had been a lifelong Bridgeport and Fairfield resident. Laura was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School. She derived great joy in helping others. Laura would open her home to anyone in need and was also an advocate for nursing and hospice programs. She loved animals of all kinds, particularly her beloved cats who brought her such joy. In addition to her cats, Laura loved her angels, moons and stars. She enjoyed crafts, making homemade goods and gardening. Laura will be fondly remembered as a generous, loving and caring soul who always endeavored to place the needs of others before herself. She is survived by two beloved children, James Classey of Boston, MA and Stephanie Guilmette of New Haven; a loving sister, Lisa (Alcure) Bohn of Maryland; a nephew Max Bohn and a niece Aimee Bohn. Friends may greet Laura's family Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 1-3 PM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A service celebrating Laura's life will begin at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Alida Ward officiating. Burial will be private.
