Lillian H. (Schneider) Klein

Lillian H. Klein, of Fairfield, passed away in her sleep on May 29, 2024, at the amazing age of 100.

A friend to many, Lillian was a great golfer, bowler and churchgoer. She was the first woman V.P. of the Church Council at First Church in Bridgeport. She was also a member of the Women’s Fellowship and Church Women United at First Church Congregational. Lillian was the President of the Fairfield Women’s Golf and Bowling for 2 years. She won the Par-3 Town Championship and the President’s Cup at Smith-Richardson. She loved going to the Cape with Dan, her husband of 58 years. They enjoyed getting together with friends and golfing or having lunch at Port Jeff or just having dinner and having some laughs. Mom loved her mysteries, crossword puzzles, and writing her friends notes, including a teabag saying, “Have a cup of tea on me!” Lillian always wore some shade of purple, her favorite color. And don’t forget her butterflies! Lillian was an avid fan of the UCONN Women’s Basketball Team. You could always find her watching a tennis match or golf tournament on the weekends.

Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Daniel B. Klein, and son, John D. Klein. Lillian leaves behind her loving daughter, Janice M. Klein, two granddaughters, Kate and Kristine Klein, daughter-in-law, Lisa (Felske) Klein, and two nieces, Sharon Horvath, and Anita Gast, along with countless friends. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate the Lillian’s life, on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11 AM, at First Church Congregational in Fairfield. At Lillian’s daughter’s request, please wear a shade of purple, or some bright summery color, to honor Lillian. A reception to follow.
