Lillian Mattioli

Lillian Mattioli, 95, of Fairfield, peacefully went home to Jesus, her Savior, surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonida Mattioli. Lillian was born in Brooklyn on June 8, 1928 to the late Frederick and Eleanor (Arnold) Oberle.

Lillian was employed as a librarian assistant until she retired to care for her husband. In her free time, she couldn’t get enough of playing games!

Lillian’s life was anchored by her deep faith. Her greatest delight was spending time with her family, for whom she faithfully prayed every single day.

Whatever happened in her life, Lillian’s heart always reflected the character of God – most especially, love, grace, humility and forgiveness. In her final days, she basked in love for and gratefulness to God and her loved ones.

She is the proud mother of Mark (Del) Mattioli and Anthony (Lori) Mattioli. She was Grandma to Nathaniel (Sheyla), Christina, Emma, and Madelyn Mattioli; great-grandchildren Milena and Laila, and step-great-grandson, Alex. She also leaves behind two nieces (nephews) and many friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her step-grandson, Warren.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday January 16 from 5-7pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield, with a prayer service at 6:30pm. Please wear your favorite shade of blue to celebrate Lillian’s life. Entombment will take place on Wednesday, January 17 at 11:15am at Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale, NY. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
