Linda A, Gabriele

Linda A. Gabriele, 72, of Stamford, passed away suddenly at Stamford hospital on December 25, 2023.  Born in Arlington, MA on June 8, 1951 to the late Walter and Ann “Rae” DiGiovanni, Linda spent most of her life and career in Connecticut and was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School and the University of Connecticut.

Linda was a dedicated educator and school psychologist who nurtured children her entire career. After retiring from teaching, Linda devoted herself to counseling women and children in need at both the Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport and later as the Executive Director of Malta House in Norwalk.

Her greatest joy was being around her family and friends. Linda’s life may be most remarkable for the deep and lifelong relationships she built and maintained. Her outgoing personality and quick sense of humor allowed her to make sustain inspiring friendships, many dating back to childhood.

Linda is preceded in death by her late husband Dr. Raymond Gabriele (2011). Survivors include her two beloved children Lauren Gabriele and her husband Stephen Diforio of New York City and Raymond Gabriele and his wife Alice Ferron Gabriele of Houston, TX. The adoring grandmother of Dexter R. and Sawyer R. Diforio and Tess F. Gabriele.  She is the devoted sister of Rev. Msgr. Stephen M. DiGiovanni of Stamford and Ellen DiGiovanni of Heathrow, FL.

Friends and family may visit at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd. Fairfield on Thursday December 28 from 4-6PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society in the memory of her late husband.
