Margaret Gell

Margaret Cashavelly Gell, age 88, of Black Rock, beloved wife of the late Charles Gell, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Born in Blackstone, MA she was the daughter of the late Sophia and George Cashavelly. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Emson Research, and also volunteered at Black Rock School for several years. Margaret will be lovingly remembered as a kind, compassionate and intelligent person with a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed walking at St. Mary's by the Sea, boating and shared the love of the sea with her late husband Charles. Survivors include a brother, Christy Cashavelly and a sister Catherine Broadbin and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Mary Bickey, Leona Pandaru, Alice Bullard, Betty Balamaci, Elizabeth Geambazi and Connie Cashavelly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
