Margaret Lucy Lupo

Margaret Lucy Lupo, age 86, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Mamaroneck, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Lupo (later Margaret Gallinelli), she lived her early years in Hoboken, New Jersey; then to Stamford, CT in 1952 to New Canaan, CT in 1984 and then to the Watermark in Bridgeport in 2011. Margaret worked in retail all her life, and in 1979 purchased the business for which she was then working, the Isabel Eland Shops. Her stores, located in Westport and New Canaan, featured fine lingerie. She was very active and involved in the running of the business until her retirement in 2006 when the business closed. Survivors include her half-brother, Frank Gallinelli and his wife Jean, of Southport, CT; nephew Keith Gallinelli, his wife Li Na and daughter, Mia, also of Southport; niece Nicole Manente, her husband Jeffrey and son Michael, of Fairfield, CT; nephew David Lupo and his wife Helen, of Fair Lawn, New Jersey; and extended family in New Jersey, New York, and Italy. She was predeceased by her sister Gertrude Lupo, and her brother Thomas Lupo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist in Stamford. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Darien. Calling hours have been omitted.
