Margaret (Krout) Taylor, 89, of Southport, CT died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 17th. Born on September 12, 1924 in Paterson, NJ to Ray and Dorothy (McKee) Krout, she attended the Kimberley School, Montclair, NJ followed by nursing school at Roosevelt Hospital in NYC. It was there that her roommate Aileen Taylor introduced her brother Jim to Peg, who became her cherished husband of 55 years until his death in January 2003.Peg was a resident of Fairfield and Southport since 1949 except for 10 years in Wichita and Tucson. She served as President of the Fairfield Woman's Exchange and Fairfield Garden Club, was a member of the Woman's Staff for the Children's Ward at Bridgeport Hospital, the Fairfield County Hunt Club and the Country Club of Fairfield. Peg was predeceased by her husband James B. Taylor III and leaves behind to cherish her memory their children: James B. Taylor IV and his wife Debra Gilbert Taylor of Stratford, CT, Ray K. Taylor of Danbury, CT, Jane A. Taylor of Steamboat Springs, CO and W. Thorne Taylor of West Haven, CT, grandchildren Jared Taylor, David Taylor, Thatcher Taylor & Gavin Taylor, sister Rae Muller and husband Robert Muller, many nieces and nephews and her devoted caregiver of nearly 5 years, Marcia Williams.
