Marian (Samperi) Barakat

Marian Barakat, age 67, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully in her home Friday, December 17, 2021. Born in Harlem, NY, the daughter of the late Fred and Mafalda Samperi, she had been a Fairfield resident for most of her life.  Marian worked in administration at MBI for 30 years. She was a dog lover all her life. Marian’s greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, her children,family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her three beloved children, Samantha Sakowicz, her husband Bruce and granddaughter Cheyenne of Naugatuck, CT, Annemarie Mucci and her husband Greg of Stratford, CT and Fred Barakat and his fiancé Cecille Breton of Stamford, CT; her long-time partner of 29 years Charles Tracy of Fairfield, CT, and her best friend of 46 years Donna DeLallo of Orange, CT.  She was predeceased by her brother. Ronald Samperi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel   Church, 163 Ortega Street, Bridgeport.  Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marian may be made to Swim Across the Sound, C/O St. Vincent’s Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
