Marion E. Steffens

Marion E. Steffens, age 85 of Fairfield, beloved wife of Henry J. Steffens, passed away peacefully on
November 16, 2018 with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, Marion was the daughter of the late William N. and Eva E. Campbell. She was a graduate of Bassick H.S. and University of Bpt. and received her Master's degree in Library Science from Southern CT State College.

She enjoyed working as a librarian and teacher at various area schools. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed music, theater and nature. She was an avid gardener, talented seamstress who loved to knit and quilt. Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her. She had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to her husband of 63 yrs., she is survived by her loving daughter Karen Avallon and her husband Phil of Barrington, NH, daughter-in-law Jeanne Steffens of Monroe, CT, grandchildren Katie and Andrew Steffens, Michael Avallon and his wife Ally, Elise and David Avallon and two cherished great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother William Campbell and her two beloved sons Scott E. Steffens and David H. Steffens.
