Marion Winter, 86, a life-long Fairfield resident, died February 2, 2014 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, finally losing her six-year battle
with lung cancer. Born Marion Louise Rodie, March 29, 1927, she graduated from Garrison Forest School 1945 and attended Smith College. Marion
married Alpheus Winter 1947; he died 1992. The two great joys of her life were her years volunteering for American Ballet Theater, and her granddaughters Emily and Abbie. She's predeceased by her husband, and parents William Stuart & Julia (Wheeler) Rodie. Survivors: daughter Elizabeth Winter, Taos, NM & Nashville, TN; son Alpheus Winter (Joan) and daughters, Easton; brother Bill Rodie (Sandi), Phoenix, AZ, three nephews and a niece, all of Arizona, and their children. A memorial service will be held at First Church Congregational, Fairfield, Saturday, February 8, 10am. A private burial will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
