Martha was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Pius X Church for many years. She loved international travel, was an avid reader, and a dedicated solver of the NY Times crossword puzzle. She enjoyed many Sunday afternoons at the theater with friends and family. Martha never missed an opportunity to correct anyone's grammar or to tell him or her to put on a coat because she was cold. Her seven children will always be grateful for Martha's courage in becoming the head of her family after being widowed at 48. She always told her children about how much she loved growing up on the South Shore in Chicago.
