Michael F. Fitzpatrick 65, of Fairfield, CT passed away October 5, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Nancy Fitzpatrick, son Ross Fitzpatrick, Ross' fiancé Julianne Sifers, daughter Lindsey Crape, son-in-law Matthew Crape, cherished grandchildren Charles Michael Crape and Bryce Keating Crape, brothers Jay and Brian Fitzpatrick and a sister Noreen Fitzpatrick. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and John Fitzpatrick of Avalon, NJ.
Michael was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised in Upper Darby. He treasured the memories of endless summers in Avalon, N.J. shared with his immediate family, aunts, uncles and many cousins.
He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1971. It is during these high school years that he developed his aptitude for football which he continued at West Chester University. He graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree. While at West Chester, Michael enlisted in the R.O.T.C program as a Marine, and following six years of active and reserve service was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.
Michael's civilian employment began with Carnation Corporation as part of their management training program. Later, he would transition his sales and marketing talents to the orthopedic implant business beginning with Johnson & Johnson. It is in this industry that Michael found his calling and became the go-to person for technical and sales solutions at various companies including Zimmer, Depuy, Biomet, Joint Medical, Smith & Nephew and most recently as a consultant for Exscribe.
Michael's favorite time was spent with his family. He was so proud of his children's accomplishments. He took great joy in gatherings of the extended family and just adored his grandchildren.
His presence will be missed by so many, but his humor, love of family and caring soul will endure forever in our hearts.
