Michael Ernest Lubrano, age 82, of Fairfield, CT, husband of Grace for 60 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2014 with his family by his side. In addition to his wife Grace, Michael is survived by his seven children: Michael A Lubrano & fiancée Shirley Sullivan of Chelmsford, MA; Christopher Lubrano & wife Linda of Hamden; Timothy Lubrano, Dianne Baxter & husband Jeff, Nicholas Lubrano & wife Laurie all of Fairfield; Debra Desing & husband Kevin of Milford; and Julie Moulton & husband David of Bristol. Michael also leaves behind his grandchildren: Michael and Samantha Lubrano, Jeffrey Baxter and fiancée Melissa Gennari, Daniel Baxter and wife Marian, Christopher Baxter, Jillian, Julia and Nicole Lubrano, Sara Desing, as well as one great grandson expected in December, several nieces, nephews, granddogs and grandcats. He was the brother to Rosemarie Angus of Brewster, MA and the son of the late Nicholas and Stella Lubrano. Michael was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, until he served his country in the Korean War. Upon his return to New York, he married his best friend's sister Grace in 1954. After starting their family, they moved to Queens, NY. In 1965, he relocated to Fairfield, CT were he later retired from Wilbar Photoengraving as a Photo Engraver after 42 years of service.
Michael was true to his Catholic faith as a member of Holy Family Parish. He loved the tranquility of the beach and the smell of the ocean. He was a dedicated fan of the NY Giants and NY Mets. Every chance he had he would be manicuring his yard and garden. Most of all, Michael loved and lived for his family. The Lubrano family would like to thank the nurses, pct's and workers on the 10th floor at Bridgeport Hospital for their service, dedication and dignity given to Michael while in their care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10:00 AM meeting DIRECTLY at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd., Fairfield, with interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock TNPK.
