He graduated from St. Ann’s School and Fairfield Prep, received his Bachelor of Science from Fairfield University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston, and, recently, completed his Juris Doctorate degree from Fordham University School of Law. He enjoyed being a frequent guest lecturer on college campuses, especially St. Bonaventure University.
Mike was a pioneer and global expert in the information security industry with nearly 40 years of experience in information technology and risk management. His clients included Fortune 100 companies as well as government agencies including the Departments of Justice and Defense and the Federal Reserve Board. He began his professional career with KPMG and Chase Manhattan Bank before transitioning to Union Carbide Corporation, where he served as an information security manager. He was later recruited to Protiviti where he played a key role in building the firm’s security and privacy practice, serving as a principal and senior consultant. Later in his career he established a private consultancy practice and began working with leaders in the healthcare industry on initiatives to enhance data security and ensure HIPAA compliance.
Mike coached multiple sports but had a deep passion for baseball. He especially enjoyed road trips with family and friends to ballparks, concerts, museums, and historical war sites. Nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by loved ones, enjoying music and sports—particularly cheering for his Yankees—and sharing stories and heartfelt laughter.
