Micheline Meirah Caron

Micheline Caron passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 29, 2023.

Born in Paris on November 17, 1929, Micheline was the eldest of two children to Wolf and Dorit Rozene.  The Rozene family left France in 1935 and relocated to Palestine in what is now Tel Aviv.  Micheline was among the first recruits into the Israel Defence Forces in 1948.  She then attended The University of Lausanne in Switzerland where she obtained her MD degree.  It was there that she met her future American husband,  Arthur Caron.  Upon graduating from medical school she moved to NY and completed an internship at Flushing Hospital. She and Arthur jointly opened a family medical practice.  After having children, Micheline worked for the City of New York as a Public Health physician, serving high school students throughout the five boroughs.

Passionate about her Christian faith, Micheline was a Sunday School teacher for over twenty-five years.  She also sang in the choir and was an active member of her Church community.  Micheline was a life learner and dedicated to holistic and natural health medicine practices long before it was in vogue.

Micheline was happily married to Arthur for 45 years until his death in 2002. She is survived by her brother, Gil Yaniv and two children, Denise Caron-Quinn and Daniel Caron. Micheline was also blessed with four wonderful grandchildren, Rachael Caron, Camille Caron Croll, David Caron and Ken Caron-Quinn.

Micheline brought joy, love and laughter to this world for 93 amazing years. She made her mark on the lives of her family, friends, neighbors, patients, students and all who knew her.

The family is deeply grateful to the staff of Maplewood Assisted Living and Constellation Hospice for providing compassionate support when Micheline was no longer able to fully care for herself.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 6th between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM at Spear-Miller Funeral Home.
