Nancy E. Phillips, 93, longtime resident of Southport passed away on November 19, 2021. Nancy was the loving wife of the late Frederick Stanley Phillips. Nancy was born December 9, 1927 in Providence Rhode Island to the late Robert and Grace After graduating Hope High School in Providence, she attended Brown University.
Prior to her retirement, Nancy was the Corporate Secretary for Phillips Consulting, Inc. The company served over 109 clients around the globe in the arena of records management. In her free time Nancy could be found collecting sea glass from beaches all around the world. Nancy was also a voracious reader; she would have her daughter take her to the Pequot Library in Southport many times a week, as she would read 4-5 books a week! She was active in the Sea Lodge sunfish racing program. She had great admiration for Colin Powell, Tom Brokaw and Lester Holt. However, she found her greatest joy spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by her devoted daughter Captain Linda Magovern L.U.TC.F and her husband Keith Magovern P.E.of Stratford CT. She is also survived by many lifelong friends.
Friends and family may visit at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Rd., Fairfield on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 4-7PM. A prayer service will be conducted at 7 PM in the Funeral Home. Committal will be private in Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
