Norma M. Short

Norma M. Short, age 78, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Jack Short, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Sherry, she had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. A graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, she spent her entire career in food service. Norma married her high school sweetheart, Jack and together they raised four loving children. She was a very active member of the Fairfield Senior Center where she developed many friendships. Norma was an avid handcrafter, loved working in her beautiful gardens and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Her greatest talent however was that of a caregiver. She never hesitated to help anyone who needed it and had a heart for service to others. Predeceased by her three siblings, she will be dearly missed by all her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchild. In accordance with her wishes, all services will be private.
