Norma Estelle Wiser

Norma Estelle Harvey Wiser, 92 of Southport, CT. died peacefully on June 1, 2016 surrounded by her family. Norma was born in Toronto, Canada on March 12, 1924. Norma enlisted in the Canadian Women's Army Corp during WWII and was stationed at Army Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. She obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. It was there in 1944 where she met and married James Sargent Wiser, a Flying Officer in the RCAF; her husband of 68 years. They were residents of Southport since 1956, where Norma served as a volunteer at the Fairfield Women's Exchange, worked and volunteered at the Pequot Library. She was a member and a volunteer at Southport Congregational Church. Norma is survived by her daughters Penny White and Debbie Hechler, son-in-law David, five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Stephen and husband James. A private family service will be held at the Southport Congregational Church.
