Patricia Abraham Tyler

Patricia Abraham Tyler, age 85, of Fairfield, Connecticut, beloved wife of George B. Tyler, whose love and support was invaluable to her, entered into eternal rest on May 7, 2023.  She was born on March 21, 1938, in New York to Henry and Florence (Brady) Zeltner.  She spent the first twenty years of her life in New Jersey, thus her claim to being a “Jersey Girl”.  She attended Boston College and Sacred Heart University, and received her Master’s Degree from Fairfield University.  Mrs. Abraham Tyler was employed by the Fairfield Board of Education, where she spent twenty-seven years teaching high school English at Andrew Warde High School and Fairfield High School and “loved every minute of it!”

In her retirement, she was a volunteer at Caroline House in Bridgeport, a board member of the High School Scholarship Foundation of Fairfield and a lector at St. Anthony of Padua Church.  She was also a member of the Retired Educators of Fairfield, the Association of Retired Teachers of CT and a past board member of Fairfield University’s Institute of Retired Professionals.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Charles T. Abraham.  She is survived by her five children, Susan Bogart and her husband Frank Pascale of North Haven, Jeanne Cabana of Fairfield, Michael Cabana of Fairfield, Julie Forrest and her husband Sean Forrest of Gallatin, TN and Robert Cabana of Glastonbury; two stepsons, David Abraham and his wife Cheryl Abraham of Fairfield and Michael Abraham of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren, Christine Wood and her husband Aaron Wood, Glenn Abraham, Melissa Fitzhugh and her husband Christopher Fitzhugh, Nick Abraham and his wife Amie Abraham, Tarah Pinsince and her husband Greg Pinsince, James Bogart and his wife Flavia Carneiro, Emily Sabia, Ryan Cabana, Liam Forrest, Kyle Cabana, Erin Cabana, Erin Forrest and Hannah Forrest; and ten great-grandchildren, Charley Wood, Maxwell Pinsince, Jack-Douglas Wood, Oliver Pinsince, Cecilia Bogart, Connor Fitzhugh, Camille Pinsince, Arlo Abraham, Heidi Fitzhugh and Susanna Wood.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, May 15 from 4-7 P.M. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road in Fairfield.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16 at 10 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road in Fairfield.  Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charles T. Abraham Memorial Scholarship Fund of the High School Scholarship Foundation of Fairfield.
