Patricia Ann (Blake) Rozelle

PATRICIA BLAKE ROZELLE of Fairfield, CT, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in the loving arms of her husband.  Born on September 5, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT, Pat was the daughter of the late Jeannie Williamson Blake and Arthur Blake.  She is survived by her one and only true love, her husband of 62 years, Warren Rozelle of Fairfield, CT; her son, Mark Rozelle and his wife Susan of Easton; her daughter Patricia Jurgielewicz and her husband David of Easton; her daughter Darlene Dowgiallo and her husband Joseph of Fairfield and her son James Rozelle and his wife Denise of Fairfield.  She is also survived by her adored and beloved grandchildren, Blake Rozelle, Andrew and Dana Jurgielewicz, Joseph and Bryce Dowgiallo and Owen and Madison Rozelle, her dear sisters Shirley Jennings of Shelton and Eileen Savulski of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers James and Donald Blake.

Pat was a Manager and League Coordinator at Circle Lanes Bowling Alley for 22 years before retiring to take on the full time role of loving grandmother.    Pat was also a devoted and active member of Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church in Fairfield for over 50 years and leaves behind many cherished friends.

Pat was a country girl at heart and loved her back yard patio with her chimes blowing in the wind, the sun on her face, and her squirrel and bird companions feeding close by.

Pat leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship and joy.  Her family and friends will remember her sense of humor and her generous and giving spirit.  Her children are most proud of her role as a Foster Mom, whereby she provided a safe and loving home to 13 foster children in her care, all the while raising her own family.  In addition, Pat was involved in many charity and community activities through her church, many of which will be carried forward by her children.  Baking was another way that Pat expressed her love.  She was well known for her enormous platters of cookies, brownies and cakes which she graciously shared.  She was also an avid knitter and would often be found with knitting needles in hand.  Pat was a founding member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Fairfield Grace, where she made countless shawls which brought comfort and peace to those in need.  Pat loved trips to the casino, playing her favorite Pogo games, and car rides to the Marina with Warren, her constant companion.  She most adored spending time with her family and was immensely proud of each and every one of them.

Pat had great faith and spoke freely of the peace she would experience when “lying beside still waters.” As she rests in peace, she will live on always in the hearts of her family.

According to Pat’s wishes, services at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield will be private. In remembrance of Pat’s giving and loving spirit, please continue her legacy of love by spreading kindness.  All acts of kindness are appreciated.

“And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, for nothing loved is ever lost, and she was loved so much.”
