Patricia Mary Russo

Patricia Mary Russo, age 70, of Fairfield, beloved and cherished daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret (O'Reilly) Russo, walked for the first time into Heaven to join her mom, dad and sister Beverly on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Patty never allowed her physical disability to hold her back. She participated in every family function and always loved being surrounded by her loved ones. She delighted in taking Sunday rides with her father, and later in life, with her brother and brothers-in-law. Patty was truly an inspiration to her family and all those who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her four siblings, Nancy Riker and her husband Hank of North Benington, VT, Barbara Ploski and her husband Gary of Fairfield, Vincent Russo, Jr. and his wife Virginia of Fairfield and Donna Grannan of Williamsburg, VA; a brother-in-law, Neil Figlar of Rural Hall, NC; an aunt, Martha Colangelo of Stratford; two uncles, Robert Russo and his wife Betty of Shelton and Wesley Scott of Stratford; many devoted nieces and nephews whom she treasured, and her two favorite dogs, Pepper and Reilly. In addition to her parents, Patty was predeceased by her beloved sister, Beverly Figlar and a devoted aunt Eleanor Scott. The Russo family wishes to express their sincerest and heartfelt thanks to Patty's caregiver for the last 10 years, Beryl Stone for the dedicated and compassionate care provided to Patty and her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
