Patrick (Packy) Thomas, age 79, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Adele Argenio Thomas, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Rochelle, NY the son of the late Patrick and Mary Thomas, he had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. In addition to his loving wife he leaves his two beloved daughters, Lisa Sabia and her husband, Leonard, of Fairfield and Sheila Krawitz and her husband, Joel, of Wilton; his beautiful grandchildren, Ashley and Lindsay Sabia, Zachary and Sophia Krawitz; a brother, Robert Thomas and his wife Barbara; sisters, Marion Queripel, Catherine Egan and Eileen Thomas; brothers-in-law, Jack Argenio, Jeff Argenio, Paul Argenio and his wife Sharon, a sister-in-law, Adele Thomas, and several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his brother, John (Jack) Thomas. Packy graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School where he captained the football team. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478. Packy loved sports and was involved in athletics all of his life. He played on the Golden Bears semi-professional football team, played on numerous softball teams, and was elected to the Softball Hall of Fame in 1997. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield. He will be fondly remembered as the best husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment with military honors will be held privately. Friends may call Monday from 3-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
