Beloved artist Paul Landry of Fairfield passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family on Friday, September 14, 2018, at 87 years of age.

Paul will be lovingly remembered by Mary McPadden Landry, his wife of 48 years, and their three children, Joe (Colin), Hope (Errol) and Tom (Caragh). Paul will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Liam, Mazy and Violet, and his siblings, Joe, John, Linda and Peter.

The grandson of two sea captains, Paul was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, He attended the Nova Scotia College of Art before moving to New York City where he studied at the prestigious Art Students League. He then moved to Westport, Connecticut, where he taught at Famous Artists School and met his wife, Mary.

He embarked on a solo career as a fine artist. Author of three books, he produced hundreds of original paintings which hang in private collections and in prominent institutions throughout the world including the Smithsonian.

Paul's memory will live on through his artistic legacy and the love he showed his family and everyone he encountered.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 17, from 5-8pm at the Spear Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road in Fairfield.

His funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 18, at 11am, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road in Fairfield. Burial will be private. For information or to offer an online condolence please visit www.SpearMillerFuneralHome.com
