Pauline J. Hoyt

Pauline J. Hoyt, of Shelton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 21, 2023. She was the devoted wife and best friend to the late Edward Hoyt for 64 years after meeting at the Pleasure Beach Ballroom in 1952. Pauline was born on July 25, 1936 to the late Glen and Anna Micknak Hunt.  Glen had a nickname for all of his daughters and “Snookie” was the youngest of four.

Pauline was an immaculate home-maker and wonderful mother to her three children and grandmother to her six grandchildren, as long as they all ate their vegetables.  She was active with her children in Sunday School, Girl Scouts and Indian Guides.  When her grandchildren were born she enjoyed babysitting, some days all six at once, and loved watching them in their sporting events.

Pauline is the proud mother of; Glen (Karen) Hoyt of Florida, Paula (Mark) Floberg of Shelton, and Pamela (Jerry) Fucci of Branford. She also leaves her adored grandchildren: John Hoyt, Marie (Luke) Valentine, Kristin (Jon) Robinson & Emma (Joe Salzillo) Floberg and Michelle & Laura Fucci.She is survived by her sister Betty Pasquarella and was predeceased by her sisters Doris Steeves and Nelly Kosma

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Pauline’s life on Monday from 10-11AM at the Spear Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield followed by the Funeral Service at 11AM.
