Peggy Lee Caulfield

Peggy Lee Caulfield (nee Tyer), of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the age of 89. Peg was the eldest of three children born to the late James H. Tyer and Margaret (Lee) Tyer. She is survived by her brother, Dr. James Tyer and his deceased wife, Lucille and her sister Mary Lou Howard and her husband Jonathan. Predeceased by her former husband, Donald J. Caulfield, together they raised five children; Christopher Caulfield of Cocoa Beach, FL, Cathleen Caulfield of Fairfield, Donald ( D.J.) Caulfield and his wife Cindy of Milford, Donna Santabarbara and her husband Philip of Norfolk, MA, and Kevin Caulfield who passed away in 1993. She is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Ryan Caulfield, Julia Ficco, Gregg Santabarbara, Daniel and Matthew Caulfield; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Carter Ficco and Taryn Caulfield. Peg was raised in Bridgeport and attended Central High School and the Pratt Institute in New York. She settled in Fairfield where she raised her five children. Peg returned to work in the art field until she decided to pursue a career in computer programming. She remained in that field until her retirement. Peg was a voracious reader, avid crossword puzzler and jig saw master! She greatly enjoyed her travels to Europe with her daughter Cathy. A memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Eugene Szantyr on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may greet the family Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
