Phillip Eugene Perrigo, age 91, of Southport, beloved husband of the late Beryl Ann (Brooks) Perrigo, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born in Easton, ME, the son of the late Kenneth Perrigo and Louise Rand, he had been a Southport resident for the last 62 years. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, he proudly served in the United States Navy onboard USS Missouri (BB-63), USS PCEC 873 and USS Hollis (APD-86). Phillip retired as Parts Manager for Turnpike Pontiac in Westport. He was a long-time active member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he served as an usher and taught Sunday school. He was a life member and Past Master of Corinthian Lodge #104 A.F. & A.M., a member of Pyramid Temple Shrine where he was active in the Motor Patrol and was a member of the Jesters group. Phil loved tending to his gardens at home, fixing cars and was an avid NASCAR fan. A kind and outgoing gentleman, Phil never met a stranger and loved engaging in lively conversation with all people. He will be sadly missed by his three children, Scott B. Perrigo and his wife, Deborah Lynch of Seymour, Sandra L. Cutter and her husband, James of St. Augustine, FL and Lynne A. Perrigo of Westport; four beloved granddaughters, Julia Slaydon(Steve) , Sarah Cutter, Alice Perrigo and Brook Perrigo; a cherished great-granddaughter, Emma Jane Slaydon; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce. Phillip lost his wife and best friend, Beryl on October 29, 2020 and due to the pandemic, the family will be holding a life celebration of both Beryl and Phillip on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Southport. Interment will be private in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
