Richard H. Olson, Sr.

Richard H.Olson, Sr. of Greens Farms, Ct., age 78, died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was born in Bronxville, NY, son of the late Anton and Elizabeth Olson on Sept. 8, 1936. Richard, retired as manager of facilities for Pepperidge Farm after working for over 35 years. He loved his home in Vermont, and traveled to many different places here in the U.S. and abroad. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and found solace at the beach. Survivors include his wife Joyce Olson, daughter Lynn Wetterhorn and her husband Markus, son Richard H. Olson Jr. and his fiancé Kathleen, daughter Sandra Olson, daughter Jill Hardy and her husband Norman; six grandchildren Anna, Karl, Elizabeth, Daniel, Tyrell and Evan; Stepchildren Jerald Kushner and his wife Maryann, Dana Sulla and her husband Joe, Stephen Kushner and his wife Adrania; five step-grandchildren, James, Erica, Stephan, Rachelle and Connor. He was predeceased by his first wife Edith. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Southport Congregational Church, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
