Robert H Jones

Robert H. Jones, age 62, of Fairfield, beloved husband and best friend of Nancy A. Jones, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Robert N. Jones of Fairfield and Vivian Jones currently residing in Green Acres, FL. He had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and had worked for nearly 30 years for Perkin-Elmer. Robert loved spending time on Long Island Sound and delighted in teaching his sons to fish. Despite his many medical setbacks, Robert maintained a positive attitude and was kind to everyone he came into contact with. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his mother, five children, Michael Jones of Enfield, Tracey Palazzo and her husband Steve of Enfield, Robert, Nicholas and Scott Jones of Fairfield; two brothers, Thomas Jones and Timothy Jones of Green Acres, FL; three sisters, Nancy Seaman of West Palm Beach, FL, Vivian Duncan of Fairfield and Jill Popowich of North Carolina; five cherished grandchildren, Emily, Cole, Madison, Skylar and Dzenita; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father he was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Jones. Robert is also survived by his former wife, Patricia (Tucker) Shaw of Enfield. A memorial service celebrating Robert's life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00am at the First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private.
