Robert M. Kelly

Robert M Kelly (Bob) passed away on April 5, 2023, at the age of 90.  Bob was a lifelong area resident, and on 12/24/32 Bob was born as a Christmas Eve present to his late parents John F and Eileen S Kelly.  Bob was a graduate of Saint Ann’s School, Fairfield College Preparatory School, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Metallurgy and he spent his career working as an executive in the metal industry.

Bob spent countless hours fishing on long island sound, and often traveling to Cape Cod MA, Hatteras NC, and the Salmon River in upstate NY to chase the next big one. Spending time on a boat in the company of family and friends brought him peace and happiness. Family barbeques were also a highlight.  His other passion was the NY Giants, and he spent many years being the master of our Sunday tailgate parties, filled with great food and laughter and always in the presence of his brother-in-law Al Deangelis, his sons, and grandsons.

He was a devoted catholic and an active member of St Ann Roman Catholic Church in Black Rock section of Bridgeport.

He is survived by this loving wife Irena (Renke) D. Valles and was predeceased by his wives Mary Jolson Kelly and Deanna T. Deangelis Kelly, his son Patrick Kelly and his daughter Kate Kelly Moran.

Bob is also survived by his children: R. Martin and Linda Kelly, Alfred and Donna Kelly, his daughter in law Maureen Kelly, John and Patrice Kelly, Adrienne and Steve Fayette, his grandchildren: Michael Kelly, Daniel Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Sean Kelly, Al Kelly, Shannon Kelly, Bryan Kelly, Kelly Moran, Michael Moran, and his great grandsons: Liam Kelly and Stanley Kelly.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 481 Brewster St., Bridgeport.  Interment will be private in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
